Owners of The Turks Head, in Hasketon, near Woodbridge, set to hold first beer and cider festival during May’s bank holiday weekend

The owners of a village pub have announced they will be holding their first beer and cider festival since taking over the site last summer.

Husband and wife team Tom and Ruth Carroll have been running The Turks Head, in Hasketon, near Woodbridge, since August after the pub suddenly shut in March.

The duo are now preparing to hold their first beer and cider festival during the bank holding weekend in May.

Between May 2 and 5, festival-goers will be able to sample beer and cider from nine Suffolk breweries, including Adnams, Molson Coors and Earl Soham, among others.

There will be live music from local artists, such as Adam Thomas, DJ Get Lukey and Woods & Law, as well as pizza from the pub’s new alfresco oven.

Tom said: “The event will be held under marquees so festivities will continue regardless of the weather.

“We’re excited to welcome festival-goers to celebrate with us and make the most of the bank holiday weekend.”

There will also be workshops and pop-ups, run by Kingdom Forge, a blacksmith based in Brundish, north of Dennington.

Entry is free.
