Ministry of Defence plans at RAF Lakenheath include new road

Plans from the Ministry of Defence at a military base include a new road.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) submitted plans to West Suffolk Council to make alterations in RAF Lakenheath.

According to planning papers, the MoD is looking to build an additional apron area at the Yankee taxiway to 'address deficiencies identified in conjunction with Yankee Fence projects'.

The plans include building a new road to be used by security forces to monitor repaired and additional fencing and perimeter of the Yankee Loop PAS area.

The council's deadline to decide on the plan's outcomes is April 9.
