Ipswich Taco Bell is still expected to open in former Carphone Warehouse store in Anglia Retail Park

A Mexican-inspired fast food chain is still expected to open a restaurant in a Suffolk retail park despite a year’s delay.

Taco Bell originally said it hoped to open a drive-thru in Anglia Retail Park, Ipswich, last summer.

Building work appears to have been completed at the former Carphone Warehouse store, however there is still no Taco Bell signage in place.

In an update to Suffolk News a spokeswoman for Ipswich Borough Assests (IBA), which owns Anglia Retail Park, said: “We understand that Taco Bell intend to fit out the premises in the near future and open for business as soon as possible thereafter.”

A job advert for a general manager at the drive-thru has also been spotted online in recent weeks, although it is unclear when the advert was originally posted.

Suffolk News approached Taco Bell for comment.

Anglia Retail Park is owned by IBA rather than directly by the council.

IBA is wholly owned by Ipswich Borough Council.
