New Nutshells-By-The-Sea opens in Hamilton Road Felixstowe
Owners of the Nutshells tearoom in Stowupland that was destroyed by fire, opened their new premises in Felixstowe yesterday, after working through the night to get it ready.
Nutshells-By-The-Sea, in Hamilton Road, can be found in the building which was previously Crafty Coffee, and in years-gone-by the Bonnet chocolate shop and tearooms.
Writing on Facebook yesterday morning, the owners Jill Booth and her husband Ian, said: "The last few days we've been working through the night (literally) but thanks to the amazing help and support of family and friends we are ready to open."
They added: "Please bear with us over the next few days while we settle back into running things."
On the Nutshells Facebook page Jill and Ian received lots of support from customers that were regulars at their tearoom in Stowupland, with many saying they would visit them at their new seaside location.
Last week the Nutshells team promised that their new tearoom would be selling Jill's famous bacon bloomers and 'sweet treats'.
Jill and Ian have said it is still their intention to reopen in Stowupland - however the whole process is taking slightly longer than they had hoped.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders from across Suffolk, the Nutshells building at Walnut Tree Farm in Gipping Road was devastated by fire in January this year.
No one was injured in the fire but Jill said it has been a 'horrendous year' and an 'emotional time' for her family, as they come to terms with what happened to their 'beloved Nutshells'.
