The Nook opens at Risby Barn Antiques Centre near Bury St Edmunds
The owner of a new café in Suffolk is excited to open the doors to her very first eatery.
Maria Turner has launched her new venture, The Nook, at Risby Barn near Bury St Edmunds, having previously run Sugar High Cakery for three years.
It maintains the presence of a café at Risby Barn Antiques Centre, which was opened by Richard Martin, alongside his wife Susan, in 1986.
"It was advertised on Facebook that the previous owner had closed and lots of people were applying to move in" said Maria.
"We live in the village and got in the car to speak to the landlord here.
"Then we said what we could do etcetera and presented our business plan."
The Nook will be serving a wide range of delicious treats, as well as the traditional tea and coffee, from 10am until 4pm Wednesday to Sunday.
Despite having worked in hospitality for a number of years, this is the first café that Maria has owned.
Maria added: "It is really exciting - we can't wait.
"There is a steady stream of customers to the site already. Everyone has been peering through the windows and everyone has been really supportive."
