The Brewers in Rattlesden and the Unruly Pig in Bromeswell make The Good Food Guide’s prestigious list of best Sunday roasts in Britain

The 50 best Sunday roasts in Britain have been announced with two gastropubs in Suffolk making the prestigious list.

The Brewers in Rattlesden, near Stowmarket, and The Unruly Pig in Bromeswell, near Woodbridge, secured spots in the Good Food Guide after thousands of nominations.

A Sunday roast is Britain’s favourite meal according to 75 per cent of Good Food Guide readers who say it is the nation’s most famous dish.

The Unruly Pig has previously received high praise for its food and was selected as one of the best restaurants at the National Restaurants Awards for the second year running in June.

It also secured first place on the 2024 Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list earlier this year while The Brewers finished 70th.

Other premises that made the list from the east of England included The Gunton Arms, in Thorpe Market, Norfolk, Socius in Burnham Market, Norfolk, and The Sun Inn Felmersham in Bedfordshire.

The Good Food Guide crowned The Abbey Inn, in Byland, North Yorkshire, as its winner of the Best Sunday Roast 2024 award.
