Police appeal for help to find absconder from Hollesley Bay prison




Police are appealing for help to trace a prisoner who has absconded from Hollesley Bay, near Woodbridge.

John Biddle, 22, was reported missing at about 12.20pm today when he could not be found after a roll call.

He is serving a seven-year and two-month sentence for burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, theft and a driving with no insurance offences.

He received this sentence back in 2017, after he pleaded guilty to the charges before him – aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon – relating to the burglary of a property in Peterborough.

This term included a breach of a suspended sentence he had previously been given for a separate offence.

Biddle is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and with blond hair and brown eyes.
