Police are appealing for help to trace a prisoner who has absconded from Hollesley Bay, near Woodbridge.
John Biddle, 22, was reported missing at about 12.20pm today when he could not be found after a roll call.
He is serving a seven-year and two-month sentence for burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, theft and a driving with no insurance offences.
He received this sentence back in 2017, after he pleaded guilty to the charges before him – aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon – relating to the burglary of a property in Peterborough.
This term included a breach of a suspended sentence he had previously been given for a separate offence.
Biddle is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and with blond hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who believes they have seen Biddle, or who has any information on his whereabouts, should contact Suffolk Police on 101, quoting CAD reference 221 of August 12.
