Suffolk Wildlife Trust marks milestone as Martlesham Wilds campaign for new nature reserve raises over £250,000
The Suffolk Wildlife Trust has thanked the public for their contributions towards its campaign to create a new nature reserve, with over £250,000 raised so far towards a £1m fundraising goal.
The proposed project would see a new wild space established at Martlesham Creek, just outside Woodbridge.
It is hoped that numerous rare lizard and bird species will settle in 'Martlesham Wilds'.
The site will also serve an area of public interest, with such attractions as Sutton Hoo located a short walk away.
Altogether, £251,310 has been raised towards the establishment of the reserve – much of it derived from small donations from private citizens.
A fundraising target of £1m has been set.
