Fire crews from Ipswich, Woodbridge, and surrounding area, battling large blaze at home in Sutton Heath area

Multiple fire crews are battling a large blaze at a home after a water carrier and command support unit were requested.

Engines from Woodbridge, Ipswich, and the surrounding area, are dealing with the fire at a home in the Sutton Heath area.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue spokesperson said they received calls just after 2pm today about the incident.

On arrival, firefighters quickly requested additional resources including an aerial ladder platform, a water carrier and a command support unit.

A number of crews are set to remain at the scene into the night.

Residents and motorists have been asked to avoid the area with local roads currently closed.
