Drivers involved in collision on A12 at Stratford St Andrew, between Saxmundham and Wickham Market, taken to hospital




Drivers involved in a collision on a major route have been taken to hospital.

Emergency services, including police, fire crews, and both land and air ambulance, were called at 7.50am to the incident on the A12 at Stratford St Andrew.

The carriageway was closed in both directions between Saxmundham and Wickham Market.

The collision involved a van and a car.

Firefighters rescued both trapped drivers from their vehicles.

They were both taken to Ipswich Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Drivers faced queues stretching two miles and were advised to seek alternative routes.
