Two men arrested after stabbing in Old Barrack Road, Woodbridge




A man in his late teens was stabbed and punched in a street during an assault yesterday evening.

Two men were arrested following the incident in Old Barrack Road, Woodbridge.

Police were called to an altercation between a group of males at 8.25pm yesterday.

The victim was in his car when he was approached by three men.

He was then punched in the face several times and suffered a single stab wound to his hand.

A member of the public, who tried to intervene, was threatened by the suspects who ran from the scene after taking the victim’s car keys.

Two men, aged 20 and 36, of Woodbridge, were arrested a short time later on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

They have been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning - where they remain.

Police have not yet arrested the third suspect however it is believed those involved are known to each other.

The victim went to hospital for treatment, although his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

The assault is being treated as an isolated incident.

Anyone who saw what happened, or has any information, is asked to contact police.

Residents with CCTV or doorbell cameras in the area are asked to review their footage around the time of the incident, as is anyone with a dash camera who was driving in the area between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
