Young talents to shine in proms
A troupe of young talent will take to the stage in a prestigious Newmarket venue on June 12.
The West Suffolk Youth Orchestra and West Suffolk Youth Wind Band are teaming up for the Suffolk Summer Proms at Tattersalls.
The young performers, aged from 12 to 18 and ranging from Grade 4 to Diploma standard, will be under the direction of conductor Neil Carlson.
For their big summer show the ensembles have an exciting programme of orchestral favourites by Grieg and Weber, through to Johann Strauss and also some show-stopping pieces by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The ensembles will perform separately as well as together, and spectators may also be asked to get involved.
The show is being hosted by the Rotary Club of Mildenhall. All proceeds will go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Tickets are available from Balaams Music in Bury and Newmarket Tourist Information Centre. Alternatively, call 0800 999 2258.
