Trombonist wins memorial award

The talents of musicians from Haverhill Silver Band have been celebrated during the group’s annual dinner.

Held at Haverhill Golf Club recently, the event saw Tom Walker voted band person of the year and euphonium player Antony Sanders judged player of the year. Most improved player went to trombonist Matt Ralph (pictured with conductor Mark Ager), who received the new Les Ager Memorial trophy, awarded in memory of the band’s former principal cornet player, conductor and president.
