The Virtues to play BurySOUND launch with new line-up
The Virtues are playing the launch party of this year’s BurySOUND music competition on Saturday - with a new line-up and a host of new tracks.
The band, now made up of lead singer and guitarist Kyros, guitarist James Green, bass player Callum Hurst and drummer Owen Williams, have a few busy months up ahead having also been nominated for best rock band at the NMG Awards in Cambridge.
Last week the group played from the back of a lorry at the Vinyl Hunter launch party, entertaining crowds of music fans in the streets of Bury St Edmunds.
James, who joined the band in July, said: “The Vinyl Hunter gig was really fun, a very different experience and something I never thought I would do.
“It was Callum’s first gig with the band too so it really felt like the beginning of something.”
The Virtues, who won last year’s BurySOUND, will be joined by Atorc, Code of Conduct, War Waves, Fortunato and The Staycations at Saturday’s BurySOUND launch party at the Hunter Club.
James said he couldn’t wait to get on stage.
“I have idolised that place for years,” he said.
“I am really excited to play there because its a such a big event and such a great venue. “There is a great scene happening down there with lots of bands supporting each other.
“It feels like a big family.”
