Newly-formed Bury St Edmunds psychedelic surf band Sun Scream say they are looking forward to their debut live show.

The band, made up of guitarists Emily Wallace and James Green, bass player Tom Lawrence and keyboard player Nathan Leveritt, formed just six months ago.

On Saturday, March 19, the band are set to hit the stage for their debut gig at Bury’s Hunter Club supporting Horse Party, Superglu and Claws.

Emily said they were thrilled to be playing in such a strong line-up of bands. “They are some of our favourite bands so we are really excited,” she said. “We got together probably around six months ago so it has all come together very quickly.

“We had all met each other at different gigs around town – me and James had been in bands for a while and Tom was into the same sort of stuff as us.

“We got the right people together and started jamming and it just worked.”

Emily said the band were still working on their sound.

She said: “At the moment it is just early days but we have a kind of psychedelic pop, surfy vibe.

“But I think we have a really big sound already.

“We are planning to have James, me and Tom all singing.

“Most likely we will be singing at the same time.

“We are just all really excited about our first gig.”
