Children in Pakenham get ready for Peter Pan open theatre event

Characters from Peter Pan flew in last week to St Mary’s Church, Pakenham ahead of the forthcoming outdoor theatre event on July 7.

Professional theatre company Immersion Theatre return with their 2018 summer tour and the event, now in it's sixth year continues to grow in popularity.

Chris Carrol-Davis, one of the organisers, said: “In this digital age more children seem to be in solitary confinement with their electronic devices, which in turn seems to be stealing their imagination.

“It is so important for children to experience live theatre and J.M. Barrie’s masterpiece Peter Pan is a perfect story to unlock everyone’s imagination.”

This follows sell-out performances in previous years of Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood, The Wizard of Oz and Wind in the Willows.

The performance takes place on Saturday, July 7, on grounds behind St. Mary’s Church Pakenham. Gates open at 4pm for picnics, crafts, refreshments and beer tent.

It at 6pm until 8pm with a 20 minute interval.

Tickets are available from Pakenham Post Office or online at www.pakenhamchurchevents.org.uk or www.immersion theatre.co.uk.
