Bury St Edmund artist launches new exhibition at re-opened Horringer pub

Bury St Edmunds artist Andrew Harrington is passionate about the sweeping skies and beautiful scenery in his county of Suffolk.

And now his work is on display in a new exhibition at the recently re-opened Beehive pub in Horringer.

His new exhibition of original local scenes, prints and cards are being displayed at the pub, where visitors can enjoy fine ales and food while they unwind and enjoy some art at non gallery prices.

Andrew will be doing a pastel demonstration for the day on Saturday, February 18, starting at midday.

The exhibition has now started and it will run through to the spring. It can be viewed from 12-3pm, 6-11pm, Tuesday to Saturday and 12-4pm Sunday.

Andrew, 51, who lives in Bury St Edmunds, was once a graphic designer,but an accident at work led to a series of operations and a switch to painting full time along with some teaching.

Although known for his Greek Blues he recently fell back in love with the English countryside producing a series of bright energetic studies of Suffolk and Norfolk.

He said: “There are some beautiful scenes here in Suffolk, a hidden riverbank, edges of fields, and sweeping skies has re-ignited my passion for British countryside again.”

Recently Andrew was accepted to exhibit in London at the Talented Art show at the Old Truman Brewery.
