Forest Heath Police on patrol in Brandon after reports of children throwing eggs at houses

Police have been on patrol in a town after reports of children throwing eggs at houses.

While out in Brandon, a Forest Heath police officer discovered an empty pack of 15 eggs outside a house which was recently targeted.

The patrol came after the force received several reports of a group of youths throwing eggs at residents’ houses.

A police spokesperson said: “Eggs are a great source of protein, readily available to all, and cheap – but they also appear to be the source of anti-social behaviour in Brandon at the moment.

“Unfortunately, incidents like this affect people differently - some may see it as harmless fun or ‘kids being kids.

“However, the target of the abuse could be someone living with severe health conditions, or is living in fear of potentially worse behaviour if they ever challenged those who were causing issue outside of their property.”

The spokesperson implored parents and custodial adults, if they have a young person in their house, to check they know what they are up to.

They also said, if you know someone who is the target of ASB, or are a target themselves, to report it to police.
