Blaze at Freedom Recycling centre in Hockwold cum Wilton sparks massive emergency services response




A large fire at a recycling centre near Brandon has sparked a massive emergency services response.

Police and fire crews from Suffolk and Norfolk have been on the scene at Freedom Recycling Ltd in Cowles Drove, Hockwold cum Wilton, for more than four hours.

Six Suffolk fire engines, two from Bury St Edmunds and one each from Littleport, Brandon, Mildenhall and Newmarket, were called to the building fire at 7.20am today.

A spokesman from Suffolk Fire and Rescue said firefighters are still on the scene battling the blaze.

He added that it was under control and did not pose any threat to neighbouring businesses or homes.
