Ipswich Town players to return to west Suffolk
Ipswich Town fans in west Suffolk are once again set to get the chance to meet and put questions to current first-team members of Mick McCarthy’s promotion chasing squad as another ITFC On The Road date has been announced for Bury Town FC.
The west Suffolk Blues’ Ram Meadow clubhouse will once again be welcoming some of the stars of the Tractor Boys’ Sky Bet Championship squad in February, in what has become a yearly visit fufil the club’s commitments to engaging with their strong fanbase in the west of the county.
Earlier this year, Blues fans got to meet and ask questions to Cole Skuse, Darren Ambrose and Alan Lee, and on Monday, February 8, Ram Meadow will be hosting an evening of entertainment involving some yet-to-be-announced players in Mick McCarthy’s squad.
The event is run by the Official Ipswich Town Supporters’ Club, and their chairperson, Liz Edwards has encouraged supporters to claim their free tickets early (see contact details below), to avoid disappointment with a limited number available.
“This has become a very popular event so make sure you get your free tickets early by contacting one of your local ITFC branch representatives,” she said.
Before their visit to Bury Town, the Tractor Boys will take their second ITFC On The Road event of the season to The Horseshoe Pub in Clerkenwell, London on Tuesday, January 26.
Edwards said there would be a small charge of £5 for the event, to cover the costs, including a buffet.
Elsewhere, an evening with Ipswich legend Jason Dozzell raised £400 for the club’s academy earlier this month, of which former Bury Town and Ipswich Town midfielder Simon Milton is in charge of fundraising for.
Edwards said The Dove Street Inn in Ipswich, run by the same landlords as the Gladstone Arms in Stowmarket, Adrian Smith and Karen Beaumont, ‘played host to a great evening, which was hosted by Simon Milton, and saw Jason reminisce on his playing days for the Tractor Boys in the early 1980s and 1990s’.
