Precision Made Joinery, of Cavendish, scoops heritage project of the year accolade at British Woodworking Federation Awards
The restoration of a listed Suffolk heritage site has earned a national award for a Cavendish-based firm, which says it is ‘over the moon’ with the recognition.
Precision Made Joinery picked up the heritage project of the year title at the annual British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Awards, a celebration of the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry.
Collecting the award during a ceremony at The Langham hotel, in London, the firm was honoured for its contribution to the restoration of The Old Rectory, a Grade II-listed property in Fornham All Saints.
Judges at the BWF Awards praised the company – which relocated from Acton to its current base at Pentlow Farm in 2022 – for delivering ‘an exceptional project, which clearly demonstrated quality workmanship to achieve a traditional result’.
Scott Grimwood, director at Precision Made Joinery, said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have been recognised for our contribution to The Old Rectory.
“This award is a wonderful acknowledgment of the passion, creativity and hard work that went into bringing this project to life.
“We would like to thank everyone involved, especially our talented team which brought the vision to fruition.”
The accolade builds upon Precision Made Joinery’s success at the 2022 edition of the BWF Awards, where it received the woodworking project of the year title for its role in renovating a Suffolk heritage home.
Helen Hewitt, BWF chief executive, said: “The BWF Awards are a rare opportunity for us to come together to celebrate the fantastic achievements of the past year and the skills, dedication and technical expertise that drive our industry forward.
“Precision Made Joinery’s work on The Old Rectory is a shining example of how heritage projects can combine traditional techniques with outstanding attention to detail to preserve our architectural history.
“Congratulations to the entire team at Precision Made Joinery for their well-deserved win and for exemplifying the very best of our profession.”
