West Suffolk is one of top 40 UK hospitals
West Suffolk Hospital has been named as one of the country’s top 40 hospitals by a leading healthcare monitor.
Independent healthcare intelligence company CHKS presented 40 hospitals with its Top Hospitals 2015 awards following analysis of more than 20 key performance indicators covering quality of care, safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency and patient experience.
West Suffolk Hospital was also shortlisted in the quality of care category for the fifth consecutive year, after winning the title in 2011 and 2012.
Prof Dr Stephen Dunn, WSH chief executive, said: “The accolade takes into account a wide range of criteria, and shows that patients at West Suffolk are receiving safe, high quality and effective care.
“It is also a testament to our hard-working staff.
“We will continue to look for ways in which we can improve still further so that we can continue to build on this success in the future.”
Jason Harries, CHKS managing director, said: “These awards recognise outstanding performance in those areas which we believe are critical to delivering good patient care.”
“We are delighted that West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is one of our Top Hospitals 2015.”
There are nearly 500 NHS hospitals.
