A 63-year-old man who went missing from his home in Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds, yesterday has returned home safe and well.

Police launched an appeal to trace David Woodrow after he left his home yesterday morning (Monday, July 27) without taking his wallet, keys or phone.

Mr Woodrow returned to his home address around midday today, Tuesday July 18.

Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue (SULSAR); National Search and Rescue Dog Association Anglia (NSARDA) and Norfolk and Suffolk 4x4 Response all attended and were stood down at 2.25am this morning after searching for six hours.

Subsequently, after a few hours sleep, these teams were re activated today to continue searching until Mr Woodrow returned to his home.
