Documents submitted to the authority say the unit is currently used as a coffee shop.

The bottle and wine bar will also offer small plates, including cured meats and cheeses from a local producer.

Old Speak Bookshop has applied to sell alcohol at 2 Hall Street.

The applicant Joanne May said she would like to sell alcohol alongside events such as book clubs or guest speakers.

This would mean the bookshop will be open until 8pm or 9pm on those days.

However, in the documents, Ms May said she also wants to provide coffees, teas, cookies among other refreshments.
