Three pubs in Nayland area recognised in national AA Pub Guide
A trio of pub and restaurants in the Nayland area have received national recognition, after appearing in an annual guide of the top British pubs, inns and taverns.
The Anchor Inn in Court Street, Nayland, The Crown in Park Street, Stoke-by-Nayland, and The Angel Inn in Polstead Street, Stoke-by-Nayland, have all been named in The Pub Guide 2020: 2,000 pubs for great beer and good food, released on Monday by AA Publishing.
Sophie Barrett, hotel manager at The Crown, told the Free Press: “We’re just delighted to be a part of the guide again.
“It’s a very personal place and we have a lot of regulars. It’s always lovely to have a lot of people come back and make it very personal to be here. We’re also really lucky with the staff we have.”
James Lawrence, Anchor Inn general manager, said the listing was “absolutely fantastic and unexpected”, and credited the consistency of the service.
“We’ve got a great core team who have a passion for the pub and the village,” he said. “Location is key, too. It’s a little off the beaten track, but it’s a beautiful riverside pub.”
