Three men to appear in court today charged with Sible Hedingham shooting
Three men are appearing in court today, Wednesday, charged with aggravated burglary, GBH with intent and possession of a firearm following an aggravated burglary in Sible Hedingham on February 6.
Charlie Simms, 22, of North Road in Great Yeldham, Kalebh Shreeve, 23, of Gibson Road in Halstead and Christopher Bergin, 27 of Hawkwood Road in Halstead have been remanded in custody to appear before Magistrates in Colchester this morning, February 24.
Businessman Timothy Mardon was shot in the leg at his home during a burglary on Saturday February 6.
He has undergone extensive treatment to save his leg following the incident which took place at around 4am.
Police investigating the aggravated burglary believe they have now identified the type of weapon that was used.
Detective Inspector Rob Kirby said: “Following a detailed forensic analysis of the shot that has been recovered and the damage caused to the door we believe that a .410 shotgun was used to shoot the victim.”
