The Brewery Tap, in East Street, Sudbury thanks community after being named CAMRA Pub of the Season

A pub say it feels ‘humbled’ after being named CAMRA’s Pub of the Season.

The Brewery Tap, in East Street, Sudbury, said the recognition from the organisation was amazing as its aim – to preserve and promote real ales – is close to its heart.

The venue features a range of more than 200 ales each year from the surrounding area, as well as the wider UK and international market.

The pub is part of Mauldons Brewery and the wider Nedging Hall Estate, and it hosts regular events from quiz nights and gigs to spoken word afternoons and tasting experiences.

Ali Macmillian, general manager, said: “We’re incredibly humbled to announce that The Brewery Tap has been awarded CAMRA Pub of the Season for Spring 2025.

“This award isn’t just for us; it’s a celebration of our wonderful community and the shared love for great real ale. We believe a pub is more than just a place to grab a drink; it’s a hub for connection, conversation, and community spirit.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey, and to @campaignforrealale for this incredible recognition.”

Alongside its core range of ales, The Brewery Tap has different guest ales each week with a host of different flavours, from light, hoppy pales to rich, deep stouts and porters.

Mauldons Brewery was founded in the town in 1795.
