Suffolk Medical Clinic in Boxford delighted after earning strong rating from Care Quality Commission
Staff at a Boxford-based anti-ageing clinic have expressed their delight after gaining high praise from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after a first-of-its-kind inspection.
Suffolk Medical Clinic, which has operated out of Broad Street for the last 20 years, earned a good rating following an inspection in July, with the report finding that services are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
It is the first time the facility, which specialises in anti-wrinkle, laser and beauty treatments, has been rated under the CQC’s new inspection criteria for independent clinics, which has replaced the previous pass-or-fail format.
Husband-and-wife team Anthony and Jenny O’Neill, co-founders and directors of Suffolk Medical Clinic, said it was great to receive this kind of positive feedback about their services.
“Obviously, we’re really delighted to get this rating,” Jenny told the Free Press. “It’s quite hard to receive a good rating in all five categories, so we were very pleased.
“I think probably it’s down to the caring side of things. We are very much people-focused.
“Boxford is also a really lovely, thriving village. For us, it’s equidistant to Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, but we also have Sudbury and Hadleigh on our doorstep.
“I think the location works really well for us.”
The clinic currently has three members of staff and is currently looking to recruit one more.
