Sudbury Memory Walk fundraiser for people with dementia postponed because of coronavirus pandemic
An annual fundraising event in Sudbury, which is hosted each year in support of people living with dementia and their families, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Scheduled to take place on May 30, organisers of The Sudbury Memory Walk say the popular event will have to be staged at a later date than planned.
Tracey Loynds, development director at Abbeycroft Leisure, who organises the annual fundraiser, said: “Naturally, we are all disappointed to have to postpone the event, however, given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, we really didn’t have much choice.”
Mrs Loynds added: “The memory walk is such an important part of Sudbury’s activity calendar, so, as soon as we are in a position to reassess and reschedule the event, we will do so and we have no doubt the event will receive even more support than ever.”
