Woman taken to West Suffolk Hospital after smoke rips through Pottersfield, Great Cornard, near Sudbury, home after it catches fire
A woman was taken to hospital after smoke ripped through a village house in a fire.
The fire service was alerted to the incident at a detatched home in Pottersfield, Great Cornard, near Sudbury, at 3.30pm.
Firefighters from five engines attended the scene and found the property was heavily smoke-logged on arrival.
Four crew members, wearing breathing equipment, alongside two hose reel jets extinguished the fire.
They are now using ventilation gear to clear the smoke from the home.
There were people inside it when the fire broke out but all of them have been accounted for.
Crews from Sudbury, Long Melford, Clare and two from Colchester attended the incident and remain at the scene.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said an ambulance was dispatched to the scene and, on arrival, advised that no other resources were required.
