SLIDESHOW: Thousands flock to Suffolk Show 2016

Thousands enjoyed this year’s spectacular Suffolk Show despite two days of gloomy weather.

Visitors to the popular agricultural event, which is now in its 185th year, were treated to a wealth of entertainment at the 300 acre Trinity Park showground in Ipswich on Wednesday and Thursday.

Crowds gathered round the Grand Ring to see the prize-winning livestock, the ever popular Shetland Pony Grand National and the thrilling Bolddog Lings Freestyle Motorcycle Display Team.

The food marquee was packed with people looking for a tasty treat while the kids zone was as popular as ever.

Show director Bill Baker said the weather had not put people off coming to the event.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people who have come down and supported the show,” he said.

“We were hoping for sunny weather, that’s what we ordered, but we didn’t quite get it. But despite the grey skies the showground has been in great condition.

“I am a very happy man.”

Bill said the show felt very busy this year.

“People had a really good time at last year’s show and on the back of that have come back. People are getting the message that this is a great event and are returning each year.
