Clare Primary School welcomes Ofsted’s recognition of ‘shared sense of belonging and close-knit community’

A Suffolk school has welcomed the recognition of its ‘shared sense of belonging and close-knit community’ following a glowing assessment by the national education regulator.

Clare Community Primary School retained its good rating from Ofsted, after a two-day visit from inspectors towards the end of January.

The report, published this month, found that pupils ‘feel they are valued members of the school community and that their ideas are acted on’, and that there had been ‘overwhelmingly positive’ feedback from parents.

Plaudits were also given to the learning environment and positive behaviour from pupils, as well as quality of the early years provision and extracurricular opportunities.

Lorna Stranger, headteacher at Clare Primary School, said: “We are incredibly proud of the recognition in this recent Ofsted inspection.

“This wonderful report highlights the shared sense of belonging and close-knit community we have strived for.

“Our dedicated staff work hard every day to create a nurturing environment, embodying our values of learning and aspiration.

“This has been echoed throughout the report and serves as a testament to the impact our school community is making.

“I am grateful to our community for their continued support and the commitment to excellence that has shaped this report.”

The report comes after the school in Erbury Place joined the Anglian Learning multi-academy trust at the start of March.

Mrs Stranger said they are confident that this move will strengthen their commitment to improvement, and provide even more opportunities for its students.

Rachael Johnston, director of primary education at Anglian Learning, added: “We are delighted to welcome Clare Primary School, and thrilled to see their dedication to excellence affirmed by Ofsted.

“The school’s commitment to building a supportive and inclusive environment was highlighted throughout the report. Its emphasis on community aligns perfectly with our core values.”
