School holiday club in village is for free
Churches in Lavenham are running a free holiday club for all primary school age children this summer.
Based at the Salvation Army Hall on The Common, the club runs every Tuesday in August, from 10am to 1.30pm, for a month.
One of the leaders of the club, the Rev Mark Woodrow said: “Last year we ran our first holiday club and it was amazing to see the children have so much fun, whilst at the same time learning about the Christian faith. We are hoping that even more children will come along this year.”
Called Polar Explorers, club material includes weekly sessions of games, crafts, music, DVD presentations and Bible stories and there will be a mini-expedition each week to learn about a new testament character.
The club is open to all local primary school aged children and includes a lunch.
Mr Woodrow said the club concludes with a family church service in Lavenham on the August 30 at 10.15am, followed immediately by a barbecue and picnic for children who have attended the club along with their family and friends.
The club is run by Lavenham Parish Church and Lavenham Salvation Army and anyone interested in attending can contact Mr Woodrow on 01787 247959.
