B1064 Sudbury Road, at roundabout junction with A134, in Long Melford near Sudbury shut after crash involving car and cement mixer lorry

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash involving a car and a cement mixer lorry in Long Melford.

Police were called at 3.50pm to reports of a collision on the B1064 Sudbury Road, at the roundabout junction with the A134.

The driver and front seat passenger of the car were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Both casualties have been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with potentially serious injuries.

The road is closed at the roundabout for a collision investigation to take place.
