Overnight ram raid leaves Glemsford shop with extensive damage
An overnight burglary left a convenience store in Glemsford with significant damage – the latest in an ongoing series of ram raids in the region.
The incident took place at about 2.45am this morning, when a number of suspects smashed into the front of the at the Spar shop in Bells Lane, by reversing through the windows using a blue Land Rover Defender with a white roof.
The Land Rover was left behind at the scene, and it is believed that the suspects fled in a red Audi estate vehicle.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said the raid resulted in extensive damage to the front shop windows and metal shutters, but it is currently thought that nothing was stolen in the incident and nobody was hurt.
