Precision Made Joinery in Acton raises more than £2,000 for My Wish Charity after completing obstacle course

Five miles of tough terrain, which featured a total of 30 obstacles, have been conquered by a team from a joinery business in Acton, resulting in more than £2,000 being raised for charity.

Six people from Precision Made Joinery, based on Inca Business Park, in Melford Road, completed the Whole Hog Run, which took place at Wantisden Hall, near Woodbridge, in October.

Directors Craig Green and Scott Grimwood, joiners Neil Hardy, Chris Langden and David Jackson, and office manager Nadia Kingston donned their running gear for the challenge, raising a total of £2,010 for the My Wish Charity, which supports West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, with the funds going towards the Rainbow ward.

The team decided to raise the money for the ward, after one of Scott’s daughters was treated at the children’s department, so they wanted to repay them for the care they provided.

Nadia said: “They looked after her so well that we decided to carry out the challenge for the ward.

“The Whole Hog was certainly a challenge, but it turned out to be a great team-building exercise.

“It’s amazing how much closer you feel when you do something like this and it helped to generate team camaraderie.

“There were some very hard obstacles to overcome and we had mud up to our shoulders in some places, but we would do it all again and we completed the course in an hour-and-a-half.

“Now, we are planning our next fundraising initiative and are putting our ideas forward.”
