Charity staff and volunteers, who dedicate their time to raising funds for good causes, are marking a significant milestone as they gear up for the festive season.

This year, the charity behind the scheme – The 1959 Group – is marking its 60th anniversary since it was first established.

Luci Fry, who first joined the charity as a volunteer two decades ago and now manages the Sudbury branch, said the community had continually supported the group’s initiative.

“We have regular people who come in every year,” she said. “We recognise them and we know what they are looking for,” she said.

Goods on offer include an extensive range of festive greeting cards, which feature local scenes of Sudbury depicting the water meadows and St Peter’s. Other goods include advent calendars and gift bags.
