Party in the Park set to return to Sudbury for tenth year
One of the signature events on the Sudbury calendar is set to arrive this weekend, marking the 10th anniversary since the occasion first began.
The annual Party in the Park event, organised by Sudbury Town Council, is expected to attract thousands of visitors to Belle Vue Park on Sunday, when there will be a full range demonstrations, workshops and competitions by local organisations.
Running from 11am until 9pm and free to enter, the event will feature displays of martial arts, keep fit, baby ballet, marching band and children’s entertainers.
Other activities will include face painting, arts and crafts, stalls, tag rugby, bouncy castles, slides and inflatables, while there will also be a variety of sweet and savoury food stalls and a beer tent.
Throughout the day, Sudbury-based charity The Befriending Scheme will be running an acoustic music stage, before local soloists and bands perform on the main stage between 5am and 9pm.
Meanwhile, youngsters in attendance will be able to enjoy climbing walls, bungee trampolines and a Punch and Judy show.
A statement from Sudbury Town Council said: “The free all day event, now in its tenth year, is run by the town council and aims to raise the profile of the diverse range of clubs and groups in and around the town.”
