Ormiston Sudbury Academy applauds success of pupil-led Mary Poppins production after performing to over 1,000 people
Students at Ormiston Sudbury Academy transported guests into the enchanting world of Mary Poppins during their own production of the Disney musical classic this month.
Pupils from each year group took part in the show, which was staged across three days to more than 1,000 people.
“They were absolutely fantastic,” said Leo Cox, head of performance faculty. “I’m so proud of them; we’ve had lots of positive feedback.”
Students had attended regular rehearsals since September, when auditions began.
Youngsters from St Gregory and Wells Hall Primary School were among those who were invited to the matinee performances.
Praising the high standard of the production, Mr Cox said: “It’s important to give them that professional experience and it’s really nice because it creates a family atmosphere for students throughout the school.”
