Organisers of Sudbury Carnival scouting for next queen, princesses and princes
Plans are under way for Sudbury to put on a great show for its annual carnival, with this year’s event taking place on Sunday, August 9.
Organisers are now looking for their next queen, princesses and princes to take centre stage in the event as the queen’s court.
Anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to go along to Sudbury Snooker Club in North Street on Saturday. The selection night starts at 7.30pm.
Organiser Sian Lawson said: “Being involved in Sudbury’s queen court will help build individuals’ confidence by travelling to different carnivals around Suffolk and Essex, representing Sudbury.”
Amid the uncertainty surrounding public events being held during the coronavirus outbreak, organisers of Sudbury Carnival say they have no plans to cancel the annual spectacle at the moment.
Hosted each year in August, a member of the organising team said they hoped the situation would have improved by the summer, which would enable the event to take place in the town as usual.
