Person taken to hospital after hot air balloon crashes into electricity line and lands in field near Newhouse Road, in Earls Colne, Halstead
A person has been taken to hospital after a hot air balloon crashed into an electricity line and landed in a field.
Emergency services were called to the incident near Newhouse Road, Earls Colne, at 7pm yesterday.
On arrival, firefighters from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service found a hot air balloon which had landed in a field after colliding with power lines.
A spokesperson for the service said crews worked to cool cylinders in the hot air balloon and worked with UK Power Networks to make the scene safe.
Firefighters gave first aid to one person, who was later left in the care of the ambulance service.
A man was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
A further 10 people were assessed and did not require transportation to hospital.
