New Turkish restaurant in Sudbury delighted by early public response
The owners of a newly-opened Turkish restaurant in Sudbury say they have been delighted by the public response.
Alaz Turkish Cuisine launched in Church Street two months ago, based at the Olde Bull Hotel, by husband-and-wife team Cengiz Tezel and Susan Miller-Tezel, residents of Long Melford for the past 10 years.
The couple previously ran a café in Sudbury and a fish-and-chip shop in Ipswich, but Susan explained their ambition had always been to have their own restaurant, and they identified a gap in the market for Turkish food.
“We feel that people are craving something new and something different,” she said. “We’ve had a really good response. It has been mostly word-of-mouth and it has been really fantastic.
“People say it’s great to have something different and they are pleased because it’s a family restaurant.
“We would really like to do a thriving trade all the time.
“In the future, we could open another, but, for now, we just want to grow the business and develop a good relationship with our customers.”
