Met Office issues yellow thunderstorm warning for Sudbury area




A weather warning is in place for thunderstorms in the Sudbury area tomorrow, continuing into the early hours of Friday.

The yellow warning from the Met Office is in place from 3pm on Thursday to 4am on Friday.

In its forecast for the East of England tomorrow, the Met Office says to expect an 'an exceptionally hot and sunny day across most parts, although the southeasterly breeze will keep some coastal areas a little cooler'.

It adds: "However, the odd thundery shower may develop towards evening. Maximum temperature 38°C."

On the outlook for Friday to Sunday, the Met Office says there will be a 'muggy start Friday, with eastern parts likely staying hot, and with some thundery showers developing', adding: "Much cooler through Saturday and Sunday, with further thundery showers possible, but also sunny spells."

In Sudbury, the thermometer is expected to peak between 33°C and 34°C tomorrow.

On Friday, temperatures will fall to approximately 25°C.
