A134 near Sudbury reopens in Assington after crash which saw motorcyclist airlifted to hospital

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a crash which closed a major road near a Suffolk town.

Motorists were advised to use an alternative route after the collision between a motorbike and a car on the A134 in Assington, near Sudbury, which has left multiple people with potentially serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Dyers Lane at about 1.17pm. The road had reopened by 3.55pm.

A police spokesman said the motorcyclist was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

According to the AA traffic map, there were queues of traffic in the area due to the crash between Dyers Lane and A1071 at the Boxford/Hadleigh turn, with congestion to Newton Green Golf Club.
