Trust installs life-saving equipment at Sudbury site following fundraising drive

A defibrillator has been installed at a car park in Sudbury, thanks to the combined efforts of sports and leisure groups.

Following a fundraising drive, the potentially life-saving piece of equipment is now available at the Quay Lane Trust car park.

Various organisations provided donations, including River Stour Boating, the River Stour Trust, The Quay Theatre, Sudbury Bowls Club and Friars Streets Sports Association.

Members of Sudbury Scouts raised vital funds during a sponsored walk and paddle.

“Sudbury Canoe Club committee members did a first aid course some time ago, which included instructions on how to use a defibrillator and we thought it would be useful to have one in an area close to all the clubs near the river,” said member Sarah White.

A demonstration on how to use the machine was staged at the weekend, which was attended by various groups.
