Keira campaign to continue
A campaign supporting children with cancer and raising awareness of the importance of having eye tests is to continue for another six-months.
The family of teenage cancer sufferer Keira Dixon teamed up with opticians Wardale Williams to launch the Keira Campaign last March and was due to run for six-months. However, the campaign has been so well received it will now run for at least a further six-months.
Keira, 17, of Sible Hedingham, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in February 2014 after optometrist Greg Hybel spotted worrying signs when carrying out an eye examination at the Wardale Williams practice in Halstead.
Following lifesaving treatment, Keira’s family decided it wanted to work with Wardale Williams, to raise awareness of the importance of having regular eye tests. Funds raised during the campaign go to child cancer charity CLIC Sargent, which has supported Keira. To date more than £3,378 has been raised.
Anyone wanting to support the campaign can make a donations at Wardale Williams or Observatory the Opticians practices.
