Pupils at Wells Hall Primary School in Great Cornard have welcomed representatives from a national charity which tackles racism.

Children in Years 5 and 6 attended workshops run by Show Racism the Red Card – an anti-racism educational charity – to find out about racism and how to beat it.

Deputy headteacher Koulla Anslow said: “At Wells Hall, we are strong believers that culture and diversity are embedded in all that we do so that our young pupils develop into tolerant, respectful and responsible citizens.

“As part of this work on the wider curriculum and British values, we invited Show Racism the Red Card to host a series of workshops.

“The pupils took part in some thoughtful workshops with three excellent coaches and educators from the charity and thanks go to Show Racism the Red Card for such a fantastic day.”

The school also recently welcomed long-distance runner Lily Partridge, who came eighth in this year’s London Marathon, to put staff and pupils through their paces as part of the school’s Daily Mile run.
