Glemsford nursery’s numbers double after expansion
A school nursery with a ‘growing reputation’ has seen its numbers doubled after opening an expansion to its premises.
Glemsford Primary Academy Nursery has welcomed an extra 25 children and also widened its age range to include two-year-olds for the first time.
The nursery is part of Glemsford Primary Academy and Becky Munnings, a nursery teacher in the academy, said the close relationship has benefitted their youngest children.
“It has been great to be able to offer bigger facilities and more places for children in the Glemsford area,” she said.
“Our nursery children really benefit from our school’s grounds and facilities.
“Parents are delighted with the expansion and staff can now do even more with the children.”
Headteacher Andrew Hammond added: “This is really positive news for the academy and our nursery as it answers a demand.
“It is also in keeping with the rapid rise in numbers across the whole school, including our reception class being completely full this September with 30 families getting their first choice placement.
“This is the first time this has happened in many years and is proof of our growing reputation in the area.”
