Eco-focused trader Soaps 'n' Scrubs scoops Small Business of the Year title at regional Prestige Awards after shop opening in Kersey

An eco-friendly trader has voiced her excitement for the future, after receiving a prestigious regional award following the opening of her first retail outlet.

Soaps ‘n’ Scrubs was named Small Business of the Year in London and South-East England at the recent Prestige Awards.

The business, which sells eco-conscious personal care and cleaning products, began trading online in 2020, before joining Sudbury’s weekly town centre market in 2021.

Back in July this year, owner Carla Turner, who previously worked as a bookkeeper, made her first foray into physical brick-and-mortar retail, when she launched her new shop at Kersey Mill.

She told Suffolk News that she was thrilled to be recognised at the awards, and looked forward to seeing the business continue to grow in the future.

“It’s been an amazing year so far for Soaps ‘n’ Scrubs having opened our first shop at Kersey Mill,” she said. “To have been recognised with this award, I’m very excited for the future.

“I am so proud to have received this and for the support of our customers and friends of the business.”
