Coronavirus: Confirmed cases of disease rise by nearly 20 in one day across Suffolk
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases across Suffolk has risen to 61 – an increase of 19 in one day.
On Thursday, 42 people were found to have tested positive for the disease in the county.
A total of 796 patients have contracted Covid-19 across the East of England, according to the latest figures published by Public Health England last night (Friday).
The number of people who have died from coronavirus in the UK has risen to 759, with Friday recording its largest death toll from the disease so far.
The Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the health secretary, Matt Hancock, have tested positive for the disease, while the government's chief medical advisor, professor Chris Whitty, is self-isolating after experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.
